Beşinci Söz, insanın asıl vazifesinin kulluk olduğunu, rızkı verenin ise Allah olduğunu anlatır. İki askerden biri vazifesini yapar ve erzakının devletten geleceğini bilir; diğeri vazifesini bırakıp yalnızca yiyecek derdine düşer.

The Fifth Word explains that our real duty is to serve Allah, and that it is Allah who gives sustenance. Of two soldiers, one does his duty and knows his rations come from the state; the other leaves his duty and worries only about food.
